Thread: N00b Question

  1. #1
Hey, sorry for this n00b question but how does heatshrink wrapping work? I assume that you just put it on the ends of the cable sleeves then heat it up somehow to make it shrink to size.
well what I wanna know is what do people use to heat it up? would a simple hair dryer work?

Yeah it works but you loose some flexability. Heat with a match and keep it moving.

    alright, will do
does a lighter work too as I doubt I have any matches in the house
would the lighter fumes have any affect on the tubing?

Not a problem to use a lighter. You can also use a candle.

I have a special gun kai that I used on my r/c lane to shrink the covering tight you may be able to use that if you want.
