How Do You Get Subtitles To Work?

how exactly do you get subtitles working.

im watching love actually, and i think at the cinema i remeber that it has subtitles for when someone is speaking portugese, but there not coming up as i watch it. i downloaded them with the avi files, but how do you turn them on?

ive got use subtitles if avaliable set to yes in media player and i tdoesnt seem to be doing anything, dyou have to switch them on?

rename the subs the same as the movie files are,

Use BSplayer or MPC to load subtitles.

I have the dutch subs for love actually and the portugese wasnt translated here so....
