Guests can read the forums since around 2 weeks (many people complained that they could not read without registering)

As long as they don't cause lag it's ok - if they start to cause lag I will disable it again.

I think the reason for all the guests are all the sites that recently closed (sharereactor & others) so expect a few more registered ones soon

why don't you have question section for n00bs to post, like a general section for how-to, it works in other file sharing forums.
people can post in this section only till they join
its not fair to have all our work for people to never, ever contribute (sign up)

I suggest that u disable access to cerTaIn sections in the forum eg. Problems or software. The ones that they need badly, so they register

Hide the lounge

it probibly discourages guests from joining.
