Thread: Optusnet Users

  1. #1
Im from melbourne and im just curious as to why we don't get very high download speeds from kazaa. My cousin is with telstra and doesn't seem to have any problems with downloading off here. I was told that optus in fact throttle the ports to limit us to certain speeds, i upload higher than down load ffs. Also i was told that there is a way of getting around port numbers and some program that allows you to get around the port numbers or some settings which will enable full download speed. If someone can help me out i would appreciate it even other good d/l sites where optus users get great speeds please let me know im at [email protected]. Thanks

If you are using a router then you may be referring to KaNAT, although you will still need to setup port fowarding at your router, also I imagine this should be moved as well...

    first of all :

your download speed depends on the # of sources for it and their upload speed, anddon't be fooled by whatyou see in the search window they are not an indication of who is available for connection so change supernodes to see if you get lucky, also use localized supernodes, also try changing ports, and lower your upload bandwidth, remove the no ip sources from your dat files and see if it helps , and if you have a router you need to getkanat

    second how are you networked??

you can't compare your self to your cousin because everything is different,

you queued is different, your sn are different, etc.

well either your pc is communicating with a router or the other pc, i mean it has to get on the net some how, lol

why don't you just ask your network admin
