Well, I have no idea about the laptop, but I know about the onboard graphics...

I have them on my motherboard although I don't use it. I tried it once when i built my computer and couldn't get it to work off my mx440. I tried a few games on it and although its onboard it had pretty good performance. I played Soldier of Fortune, Grand Theft Auto 3, and Need for Speed 3. All those games worked pretty flawlessly with 640*480, at 800*600 it was pretty good with the first two games but perfect with need for speed 3. I even got Need for Speed running at 1024*768 and it still ran flawlessly (I would have tried higher, but that was the maximum my old monitor supported). Pretty good for onboard IMO.

Acer are supposed to be pretty hot, although it's been a while since I've used one myself.

I believe Lamsey has (or had) one, if he ever got it working. You might like to ask him what he thought about it.

They're pretty good IMO - excellent design, and the specs of that one you linked to seem excellent for under £600.

If you want to find a home for the old one I'm sure I can accomodate you... :-"

yeah, the reviews on there seem to be saying the same too, i may already have a home for it, either my brother, who starts uni after the summer, or maybe my gran and grandad. i need the funds from it to fund my new one.
