Help Needed! Irc And Internet Explorer

hi, right ill jus explain my problem.
when i go to sites such as www.packetnews.com and try to click on a link, i get an error on internet explorer and it needs to shut down. this happens when i click on any link for irc, any one else experience this and does anyone know what i should do?

it was working up untill very recently and i havnt a clue whats caused it!

i dont know whether to put this in irc or software so i jus did both, in hope that some one might know what to do

try maybe mozilla firefox web browser instead, i find ie really buggy. If that doesnt work, lemme know

hmm thing is id rather like to keep IE and just fix the problem, as this is my dads c and i dont want him to think ive messed it up

You could try updating your IE to the latest version. Someone PMed me with the same problem, I told him to download the latest IE, and he said it worked after that.

lol, ill sound like an idiot but what do you mean download the latest version? how do i do that like? i think the one i have is the most recent version like. thanks for your help btw!!!

Open IE, click on Help, then About IE. Check your version number. The newest is: 6 SP1.

If yours is older, go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downlo...p1/download.asp

and download the latest and install it.

Also, I've merged your two threads, please post only once.

Make sure you have the latest version of ie or patch applied. Try windows update.

nope didnt work, i installed the latest one, but still get the error thingy when i click on the link! any other ideas?

Not to sound like a chode or anything but... you do have mIRC installed right?
