EQ is probably one of the biggest still, and thats testament to its greatness. Maybe the graphics are a little dated, but who cares? Gameplay over graphics anyday.

For a shooter its gotta be Counter Strike.
Rainbow Six 3 is also very good along with Splinter Cell 2: Pandora Tomorrow

It's a shooter game where Team Play is essential.
It is free, just download, go through training and start the massagre,
that is, if you "can". (DL is a tad over 600MB)
They got pretty good communitys going, forums and such.
Not just the official. Game has been around for sometime,
a lot of patches has been added with extra maps etc.
Like in all Online games, there is Cheaters on this one too.
God Damn Script Kiddies. Why they have to ruin all the Online games
goes beyond my understanding.
Well, I dont play it that much if not all,
but for Online Game, I think this is pretty good.
And, it is totally free which makes it easy to install and it works right away.
No need to look for "CD-Backup exe's" or try to get a "working serial".
