Me and the g/f both recently got broadband and tried to send a file through msn messenger, it was really slow, like a 56 dial up? What's the best/fastest thing to use to send a file between two people that have broadband?

IRC seems to be the best for file transfer.

Read "Configure your network for instant messaging and file transfer" if you have a firewall active.

On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.

I use messenger all the time to transfer files - a 3.5 MB MP3 usually takes less then 15 seconds.
