    It wasnt designed to be, however you can use the Filesharing capabilities etc to set up servers that will automatically send files to those that ask..

    This is exploited by p2pers, and mIRC is therefore an unofficial network in its own right.

    If you go to somewhere like www.ircspy.com, the search engine will go through the channels sharing files; eg Movies and give you links to those channels and the commands necessary to download the file on offer.

    In addition to this, you can use DCC to personally share files to those that you are talking to in the chatrooms.

    mIRC may be quite "Old Hat" but its flexibility keeps it going and makes it very popular.

    You can usually get new releases on mIRC before they hit the other networks.
