I use eBay/Half.com sometimes.
But I don't buy drivel from it.

That's a little odd. I own quite a few CDs that I've purchased over the years. Most of them are worth it. I believe that the issue isn't "why do you buy CDs," but rather "why did you buy *those* CDs."
My suggestion would be to take them to a second-hand record store. You'll get a few bucks from them, at any rate.
