    .....this can't be good

Women have the XX chromosome and men have the XY, correct?

If so, that means that only daughters could be born. The more females out number us the more this procedure will be practiced...resulting in even more females until the entire male population will become an endangered species.

QUICK, Men, procreate, procreate like there is no tomarrow because someday there won't be for us. NOW, GO!!!!!

(If it ever advances enough to use in humans of course)

The science to do this has been around for some time. If it can be done with a mammal it can be done with humans.

Of course, whether it is desireable is another matter.

You cannot miss what you never had (so to speak) so most nearly everyone born in such an environment would be content as they are. What such a society would be like is difficult to say - no doubt there are Sci-fi stories on the subject.

As men are perhaps a little over-represented in the sciences I won't hold my breath to this being a major problem anywhere in the near future.

But strangely not so much over-represented in biology, (at the university level at least) I smell a conspiracy.
