How do i stop Msn messenger from appearing on my taskbar when i try to log in to hotmail through internet explorer? ALSO, i am using windows xp and i was wondering if it is possible to delete msn messenger for one user(for example person "x") and still another user (for example person "y") can use it?

Once you get rid of MSN, it's gone for all users. You can just go to Add and remove programs and then add and remove windows components to remove it. You should be able to configure when MSN starts in it's configuration menu. BTW, why use MSN? There are other programs, such as trillian which can handle multiple protocols if you use more than one IM program.

Now Windows messenger is another story.
