Would it be within the realms of possibility to have 1GB Dual Channel DDR running simultaneously with 256MB of SDRAM?

no its not possible. if you have a board that has sdram and ddr ram, like my board, then it says in teh manual that running them synchronously isnt possible. and i tried it and i got beep codes and stuff and couldnt boot, so i just took the sdram out.
