Don't suppose recently you put a new HDD in from someone to copy some files over with an install of windows on it?

I did this recently with my brothers PC and it corrupted the master boot file. Windows XP home disc repair function sorted it.

That's exactly what I did to solve the "blue screen of death" which I recently had.

Although in my case it just occurred only while I was downloading files.
