Thread: .ram Doesn't Play In Mpc

  1. #1
(Sorry if this subject has already been covered in another thread, but I couldn't find anything on it yet)

I've just done a fresh winXP install, setup MPC 6.4.8.2, installed the latest mega codec pack including Real Alternative and now my pc doesn't want to play .ram files in MPC (or any other player for that matter). I get the following error message: 'cannot render the file'.

Does anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong? (btw, I've tried .ram's from different sources, so it's highly unlikely there's something wrong with the file. Oh, and embedded RM files do work.)

Thanks in advance for any help.

It has to do with settings.

    Options > Formats:

Set Real-Time Streaming Protocol handler to RealMedia.
