I just started converting an AVI file to Mpeg so I can make a VCD when I realised that half the picture was a blocky green.

    I am using tmpgenc.

I have played the file on my PC and the quality is good so I must have a problem...any ideas?

first thing go to the settings for tmpgenc option the enviormental settings

go to the vfapi plug-in tab

right click on directshow multimedia file reader, and click higher priority

do it again till directshow multimedia file reader is at the top of the list

    then click ok

    see if that helps

also there is a good guide
