Any Cs Experts Here?

n the last few days i've been getting alot of high latency, and i'm not really running anything that would affect this. I've noticed that if join in a high latency server for exanple 100 ill be the only one with that amount. And if i join a low latency server it will still stay high. Is there a way to fix this problem.?

try playing on servers only in your country

try changing ur rates, use the console to change em, the ones i use are:

rate 9999
cl_cmdrate 28
cl_updaterate 23
cl_allowupload 1
cl_download 0
cl_download _ingame 0
fps_max 100
fps_modem 100

if u like joining new servers with maps u dont have then u probs shud set cl_download to 1, if these rates dont work aswell, try tinkering them, make sure u keep a note of ur old rates.

set your rates from 28 to 40

28 and 23 is way to low

those rates worked nice for me, recommened by a friend, tinker them till they suit ur connection is wat i say

Yup, set your rates in the 30 range and you should be fine.

your cl_updaterate and cmdrate are below default if i remember correctly, i think default is 30/20
rate 20000-25000 (this is what gets your ping down)
cl_cmdrate 101 (leave it as this , lower it down if u dont feel like ur shots register)
cl_updaterate 101 (same thing as above)
ex_interp 0 (this will set the setting accordingly to how u set your updaterate)
cl_allowdownload ...depends if u want to dl the stuff the server has to offer
fps_max actually has nothing to do with latency

the "rate 20000-25000(most use 25000, but doesnt make much of a dif." is what will get your ping down...the rest of teh stuff just amke your shots register more on the server so you dont feel like you shooting rubber bullets at the guy.
