Things of note:

-One of the screens is touch sensitive like a PDA. In one demo, players guide a toddler-age Mario as he falls from the sky by drawing clouds. Other games give multiple views of the action.

-Each screen is 3 inches,

-Bluetooth wireless communication to link up with other DS's

-DS uses small cards, there's a separate slot for GBA cartridges.

-It has more processing power than the N64.
Silly bitch, your weapons cannot harm me. Don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut, Bitchhhh!

If if we are to believe Nintendo this isn't even their answer to the PSP.

Nintendo said that the DS was not a competitor to the PSP. That will be left to its GameBoy series which will still be continued.
And with Sonys PSP out soon, you can expect a new GameBoy to not be far behind. Although Nintendo have yet to make an official anouncement on a successor to the GBA SP.

It's the whole "Third pillar" philosophy - GC + successor in the home console market, GBA Sp + successor corners the "true" portables, DS sits inbetween.
