Nvidia Card W/ This Fan?

Well I have a computer store near by and wondering If I should install this?

Right now I have this full out heatsink.

Is it worth it? I live in Vancouver B.C.
So any good store to buy a good fan for cheap.
Will that fan will fit into my card?

Also how to install fan/heatsinks in a VGA card kind of scared of screwing it up!

and then once ur in teh page, which one are u talking about?

to install a vga heatsynk (not fan), you remove the two little squishy wierd thing going threw the card (plastic things) and then the heatsync will fall off. then do opposite to put a new one on. make sure u apply some thermal paste between the heatsync and video card's GPU...

to install a new fan either drill some small holes into your current heatsync very carefully (remove it from teh card FIRST) or just buy a whole new heatsync and fan.

I can't say I think too highly of that HSF in particular or any of that genre in general.
Little, whiney, low-output fans generate more noise than I find acceptable while moving very little air.
Thus, you get the worst of both worlds...a hot VGA AND the constant noise to remind you of it.
Go big or go passive...either way it's more work and more expense, but a good solution usually is.

if it's gonna be that cheap, might as well just buy some arctic silver 5 which you can use to put between the cpu and heatsync, as well as your gpu and heatsync. and buy an 80mm fan and make some sort of contraption to hold it next to\agint the heatsync...which is what i did for my fx5200 and my mx440 which is now in my P3.

Make your own! That's what I did...
I took an old stock AMD HSF with a copper base in it, and cut it to size and such, drilled and cut away untill I was satisfied, then mounted a fairly quiet blue LED fan that shines through the fins of the heatsink. Looks pretty! and it keeps my overclocked 9600XT at a cool 30C load....

Okay Il buy an 80MM fan and put it OVER my heatsink which is big enough.
So Il have a very passive cooling vga cooler!

But the problem is what type of contraption or glue to make the 80mm hold!

yes hsf is heatsync fan...(heatsink actually).

To hold it on, a screw or two or three or four would be best, hot glue works but i find that when the heatsync gets hot it gets a little sticky...but stilll holds.

btw, this wouldn't be a large passive cooling vid card, passive cooling means no fans...

About super glue, mix with thermal glue?

Is there any glue that isnt heat effective? Thermal glue?

definately make it cooler!

u could try double sided tape, that should be fine...

don't penetrate the heatsync, u will break it or the card...if it has fins on it then u will see that a screw could go in through the find, if not then don't put a screw in...
