Thread: Mozilla Firefox 9 Error

1. #1
When I open my Firefox 9 version it tells me that firefox.exe has encounterd a problem and needs to close.

AppName: Firefox.exe AppVer: 0.9.0.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.1106 Offset: 0003381c

and then if I want to send a report to M$

If I tell the program to run in windows 98 compatibility mode it works OK.

How can i fix this.

*shrug*

just run the program in win98 compatibility mode.

if thats a hassle try re-downloading and re-installing the software package.

Read the release/install notes.

It says uninstall 0.8 FIRST, otherwise you WILL have problems.

The profile info is held in a separate area so it isn't affected, and it is automatically imported into the new version.

Likewise installing Thunderbird 0.7, it must not be installed into the same folder as 0.6 (or earlier).

I did exactly what it said for both apps, and have had no probs whatsoever.

I guess I will run it in compatibility mode, this was the first time I installed Firefox, I figured I give it a try since they named a browser after a nickname I have been using for 20+ years.
