Certainly, the amount and quality of the work it impressive.

But I can't help feeling that he could have organised the placement of some of the components a little better.

A look at just a few of his pics leads me to one conclusion - Spaghetti.

IMO, a good project made bad by overengineering.

maybe becuase if it was neat it would look less sophisticated?

Have you followed the project from it's inception?
The clutter is intentional.

One can only imagine what it would look like if he had gone for the sleek, clean look.
I can understand how the final product might not appeal to all, it's the scope and detail of the project that blows me away.

I'm totally in awe of this project but i tend to agree with lynx. Imagine if something fails like say the motherboard. Think of the amount of work involved in replacing it.

Convenient?? no...
Eye candy?? Very much of it!
But I must say, it is a piece very very well done. My congrats go out to the maker/owner.

Yes, I've followed it from the first post. I somehow missed out on part 4, but I've caught up on that now. I didn't realise at first that it was going to look so cluttered, it wasn't until about part 3 that I saw what was happening. Personally I think it detracts from the overall look.

The other question is, will it be reliable?

Even though he's gone for water cooling, I still foresee overheating problems with all that "clutter" getting in the way of having any sort of reasonable airflow, I also suspect his pump may get a little warm in such a snug case.

I was also thinking about that Lynx, what about the components that aren't watercooled, such as Hard Drives and Ram?? I can see those overheating quite quickly.

Must you allow reality to intrude into this fantasy build?
I must admit that I'm curious about the performance also, but assume that it's actually of secondary interest to g-gnome.

Maybe he'll post some info about the running characteristics in the future.
