ok, i just switched to an ethernet modem, which i now have connected 2 my router......

my max speed was 1,1 Mbps, (140 KB/s)

now i cant normally get higher than 110KB/s

they way i just switched it, i got 2 FTP downloads going @ +/- 90KB/s, simultateously.......

my question kinda is, how is this possible?????

You sure the download speed didn't drop steadily after a couple of minutes?

Regardless, I have seen this happen before, there is a thread on it somewhere. Someone more informed in the history of software world will be able to tell you.

What's your rated internet connection speed (i.e. what do you pay for)?

i payed for the 140KB/s connection........

and, no, my conection stayed stable for a couple of minuits (it dropped from 140 a piece to a steady 90 a piece), else i woulndt have looked up

could it be because of the router?? ive heard routers booting cable speeds, but i have never heard of it for ADSL....

You are probably downloading a file that has a lot of redundancy.
