Thread: Ok, This Is Wierd

This is an odd problem that has shown up recently. When searching for some files, the search list becomes filled with listings. What's odd about this is that the files are all from the same user (there may be multiple users, but each one appears to have many copies of the file, let's say 50 each), they all have the same bandwidth (regardless of the user), and they all have different file sizes. The filenames appear to be different as well. Trying to download any of these files either results in a More Sources/Remotely Queued status, or a bad file is downloaded where the song just gets screwed up with some odd sound shortly into it. This has happened on 2 seperate computers, one with K++ 2.4.3, and one with Resurection. The two examples of songs with this problem are Seething featuring Amy Lee - Broken (from Punisher) and Fuel - Shimmer. Anyone know what's up?

This is the RIAA and their cohorts trying to confuse the enemy (us&#33.

It also happens with all new release movies and the only answer is to sort your search by user name and disregard all the multiple entries.

Old stuff is still good but you might want to try soulseek for new music and bittorrent for new release movies.

Yeah, have this too. User with the multifiles is called erica@kazaa (i know that usernames aren't unique). But it's quite simple to spot it because quite often thoes "quasi multisources" have fakes so obvious that it hurts (Hero CD#1.avi, size 22kb )

Everyone needs to realize, that these are called "FAKE FILES". Go to Google and type in "MP3 Sheild", and download from the first site that Google returns you with. It is a program that you run while on a P2P program, and automatically scans the files you already have, and the files in your queue. Please use the search button next time, i'm sure the more experienced posters are getting tired of answering this problem.

MP3 Sheild finds only .mp3 files (that's why it has this name). Other fakes won't be found.
