    Maybe it got disabled with one of your BIOS updates you did a week or so ago...

    I'd just check in there to make sure...

    try reinstalling your ide drivers, i has the same problem, speedfan didnt detect my hdd, and after reinstalling ide drivers it worked.

    Sorry if off topic but I 'v never used the Smart feature in bios . I take it it warns of harddrive failure , any other features ?

    well, it would be hepful, so u can backup ur important stuff so when it fails u still ahve it.

    anyway, ya i know i would persoanly rather reinstall window than watch my comp backing up, etc. kinda annoying and boring lol.

    BUTI don&#39;t like loosing GBs of downloads over something i could ahve avoideded.
