Computer Temperature.

i downloaded a program called speedfan as roscco suggested, and all it says on the readings page is

HD0:38 degrees celcius

it seems to go between 38-40 degrees Celcius

is that ok, or is it to hot?

could be lower, but it is definately well below the maximum opertaing temp...(probably 75-80 degrees )

what you really need to worry about is CPU temp...what is that?

i dont think i have that option. is their some sort or probe that is suppost to be in it?

ill try that motherboars mmoniter 5 thing and c what it says

MM5 dosnt support my motherboard. maabye u cant check the temeprature on this motherboard.

or manye something isnt hooked up right.

my hdo is 49C. my comp is so noisy too! on the site it said it can change the speed of the fan. what settings should i use so its not so noisey and cooler? thanks

not noisy, and cooler? impossible...

and is their any other way of measuring it, it might be overheating when i start up the game, and i have no way of knowing

touch the heatsync with your finger. you should be able to touch it and not have your finger "automatically" pull away from it.

You can buy hardware temp probes. The lcd display goes in a 5.25" drive bay (some i guess can go into a 3.5" too) and a "probe" plugs into it and u stick it in the heatsink.

bad temps for HardDrives are above 55'C for Maxtors.

Get a hard drive cooler they are really good my temp was 55'c now it is 22'c

Yes, hd coolers are a very good buy. Cheap and lower temps dramatically.

Open up SpeedFan>click on "configure">click on " temperature" and you'll see what (if any) sensors are available on your board.

Just check the boxes next to them and see what info pops up.
Obviously wrong temps ( -47 seems to be popular) just mean that there is no sensor.
If the only read you get is your HDD, then SpeedFan is useless to you.

There is a standalone app called HDDTemp that can read just your SMART values...
