Just to tell you guys...
Don't get HP DVD-RW BURNERS
They don't let you copyright dvd movies.
If your a person who burns dvd movies don't buy them.
Dont buy anything HP

But how would it make it so you cant burn copyrighted dvd's? It was probably just the software you were using.
Its encrypted in the burner not the software.
So matter what software you use it won't work.

You might be able to find cracked firmware.

or you could decrypit it on to the hard drive with a dvd-rom drive and then burn it. once its been decrypted the burner only sees it as data.

I have made a few backups of some of the DVDs that I already own. DVDXCOPY seems to work fine in most cases, but try DVD Shrink, it is good and I never had a problem with it. It is all you need when making a backup copy, and it is FREEWARE.

EDIT: I just used DVD Shrink to backup my original store copy of The Matrix (which is one of the hardest movies to copy, with other software), just to verify how good that burning program is. Flawless, and no "Warning Tags" burned at the beginning, like DVDXCOPY does. Just a few clicks and the backup is easy. Naturally I trust that you only make backups of movies that you already own.

you can hack the megahertz of the 2500 to make it duel layer, I just bought his bigger badder brother the 2510a for 82 shipped form newegg
http://www.herrie.org/index.php for the shiznit on firmware for your burner

What benefits would I get by unlocking my DVDR (change the BIOS)? I seem to be able to make perfect backup copies of the DVDs that I already own.
You would gain the bragging rights, naturally.

Then you could overclock it, watercool it and ultimately melt it into a puddle.

Be very l33t.
So thats why....
Spoiler: Show
