I'm doing a virusscan at the moment with AntivirXp.
It's a fairly good free AV but the thing is that it's maxing out my system resources
When doing a scan it takes ages to load an application, and when surfing the web it's like i'm on 56K :

So what do you think is one of the better/best AV's out there.
It doesn't have to be a free one per se.
I just don't want it to act like my current one does.

Also,i read that when changing from one AV to another you have to make sure that everything of the previous AV is uninstalled, otherwise it could make your new AV crash or not function correct.

Is just uninstalling the thing sufficient enough,or are there other things that i have to remove manually?

First time i'm switching AV's, so i just want to be sure about it.

    Thanks

Anyone here that ever tried Panda Internet Security Platinum?

Looks pretty cool as an all-in-one security software.
    It's got:
    • Antivir
    • Firewall
    • Anti-dialer
    • Anti-spam
    • Web content filter

If you run into it somewhere, let me know
But for know i'll stick to one of those two.

When it comes to comparing any software people tend to recommend what they use, unless they have had a bad experience from it.

If i were you i would search google for comparissons by experts who have systematically tested many different AV software that way you get impartial advice.

I personally use VCOM Systemsuite 5 (formally ontrack systemsuite) and never had any problems with it.

But that doesn;t come from a P2P users poinnt of view. They have full licenses for their software, or at least they should lol, so they can recomend any program.

I would personally have recomended panda antivirus, but i cannot get a crack for it, so no updates, therefore i find it useless and don't recomend it.

@ filliz, this pretty much answers your question. It is a great AV and firewall and all that (although i wish it was only AV), but you will never find a crack for it, making it useless uinless you pay.
