I believe one can also still receive the death penalty for piracy on the high seas.
This fate is worse than death. Condemned to live out existence in a vessel incapable of sustaining my true glory. How am I to function with such limitation? - Illyria

It was technically still available for high treason and piracy (watch out file sharers ) until 1999 and it may have been hanging, even if in essence there was no death penalty

it’s an election with no Democrats, in one of the whitest states in the union, where rich candidates pay $35 for your votes. Or, as Republicans call it, their vision for the future.

How about the queen and the law then?

Our royals are still outside of the law I think, or were until recently, our king's been stopped for speeding some, and have gotten away with it.

Lets say the queen killed gems, would she go to prison?

Look on the bright side Gemby - the new law means we can't smack you hard.

I expect you would have to spend the rest of your life watching the shopping channel with no access to a phone or credit cards. (Or is that cruel and unusual punishment?)

    Why do you ask?
