How Do I Add Subs

I got shaolin soccer and it came with a file named subs, and it semed to be the subs for the movie, i had my friend sit by the monitor and read them out loud while i enjoyed the movie, but that seemed to piss her off a bit, so is there any way to add it to the movie, what program would i need, i have VLC, thanks

Use BSplayer. Name the sub the same as the movie and play it
