How do I set my computer to set a specific player (WinDVD 6) as my default viewer?

Viewer of what? *.mpg files? DVDs?

Files: Unless there's an option within the program itself, it can be quite a task to cover all the filetypes that it can handle...
1 - Open any window and select Folder Options from the Tools menu.
2 - Click the File Types tab.
3 - Find and highlight a file extension that you want to change, highlight it and click the Change... button in the bottom half.
    4 -
    - For XP choose Select the program from a list and hit OK
    - For other OSes go to the next step.
5 - Find your program in the list, highlight and click OK.
6 - Repeat steps 3 to 5 until all supported filetypes are covered or you get bored... whichever comes first.

For DVD/CD drives in XP: A little simpler than for files if the program has added itself to the right place in the registy...
1 - Open My Computer, right click on a CD/DVD drive & select Properties.
2 - Click the Autoplay tab.
3 - Select the type of disc from the drop-down list.
4 - Click Select an action to perform and highlight the program you want to use from the list.
If the program isn't listed there, someone else will have to guide you through adding it there, as I don't know how.
