Antivirus/windows

i was talking with some fellow geeks and learned that norton and mcafee
signed a deal with M$ that said if they find a hole or a virus for with
windows they will let M$ know about it a give them 90 day to fix it before they
reless a patch, but AVG didnt sign that
is this true?

Welll, if it is true, which i highly doubt, then there's another reason not to use norton. (or mcafee)

Absolute bullshit.
If you think about it for just one minute you'll conclude that viruses spread so fast that such an idea would be preposterous.
Why would anyone suggest that AVG didn't similarly enter such an agreement? To infer that AVG has more up-to-date definitions? Why not also mention Trend, Avast or Panda?
