sorry if this is in wrong section but can't see appropiate section.

I have been using kazaa for years and never had problems like this

I am running windows xp, aol 8.0 and can't connect to kazza lite. don't have a firewall, or enabled. I never had this trouble before, I had kazaa running perfectly before I had to format windows and reinstall.

tried using different ports 1214, 7000 and all ones in help file.

aol say they don't block them anyway

    disabled my virus scanner etc.

    Any ideas please???????

    Thanks in advance dan

I don't know that it would totally disable Kazaa, however is the firewall built into XP disabled.

    start/control panel/network connections
right click then properties go to advanced and make sure the box isn't checked.

    Well that was bleak.

Anyway when I have had issues connecting using k-lite (happened 3 times) here were the reasons:

    1) Firewall (which you mentioned you do not have running)
    2) version. I had I think 2.0.2 and no matter what I did it just wouldn't connect so I ran an earlier one till a newer version came out.
    3) Another p2p client. BT works with K-Lite, though I don't know how well but when I tried out Limewire, even if it wasn't running, I couldn't open klite. Just some thoughts.

Either your internet is hanging up, or you have ad or spyware. (God, this has become my trademark now). Download Adaware 6 and then try using the Online Spyware Checker at www.spywareguide.com. It should clean your system, then restart your computer.
