Thread: Getting An Lcd

  1. #1
Im building a system for a friend w/ an LCD display. I wanted to know what video card I should get. They arent gonna be doing much on it, no games or videos. So the card should be in medium-low on the price range.

    TIA

if no games then a 5200 or an mx440 is good enough, and great price tag too...

regular monitor ones for most of them, the more expensive ones use DVI (better video quality).
My 5200 doesn't have dvi out, i think the low rage radeons do though.

I was thinking of getting either an Radeon 8500, 9200 or a MX440.

You know a good place to get a 15" LCD? 25ms is fine. Dont want many dead pixles either.

No gaming or movies? If you are building from scratch then maybe a motherboard with onboard graphics could be the way to go.

What monitor are you intending to use?

    I was thinking of getting a Gigabyte GA-7N400-L NVidia NF2 U400

Im not really sure on the mnitor but I saw some Dell's on ebay for around $200 US after shipping

EDIT: btw, I can only shop using PayPal or in store.

Albeit onboard GPUs don't have tendancies in sporting DVI outputs, as experienced when SiS be catering for your gaming requirements.

Therefore, should onboard graphics be accompanying your monitor, take into account the fact that you have to tollerate the abscence of a DVI interface and suffice for analogue D-SUB.
