Cant Get 5.1

:helpsmile: I've copied a few dvds that have 5.1 surround sound but the copied disks only come out with 3/2.1. I have only onboard sound no sound card installed. I'm using 3.2.1 Xcopy. Can anyone tell me if i need a sound card to get the full effect or do i need a software program to fix ths? Any help on this greatly appreiciated.

Its nothing to do with your sound card BUT you won't hear 5:1 on a 2 speaker card, it should be ok on a home dvd IF you have the setup for it.
