Thread: What Happened To My Sygate Firewall?

  1. #1
    It said this

Error 1316 a network error occurred while attempting to read from the
    file: C:\windows\installer\pspf.msi

it wouldn't update to the latest build(i'm still at 2577)

then I tried the udpate file again and it uninstalled my firewall completely.
When I tried to freshly install it I got the same 1316 error.

Now I can't even put back the original version I had.

I looked for the root file in the error message and it doesn't exist and my add/remove programs thing its listed but it won't let me remove it.

What do I do to get the prog completely out of my system so I can put it back clean again.

    Should have never upgraded.

btw the free version doestn't work neither and I disabled my sys restore awhile ago so I can't go back in time.

I updated mine to build 2637 no problems.

reg cleaner will come in handy to remove from add/ remove

check common files in program files
    for any Spf/sygate installation
    (wise installation folder/use properties
to check to see if they're sygate) delete those

check your reg for Sygate delete those
reg cleaner comes in handy to find those

do a search for sygate /spf looking in hidden files and folders
    if any delete

    restart your comp

    install

fill in the details change your email address
    and get a new serial

    I hope this helps

If not i needed to practice my typing

is that safe to do considering that it doesn't seem like its fully uninstalled?

should I give up and just install windows again?
