Thread: Program To Rip, Convert And Burn

  1. #1
I have never ripped a CD or burnt MP3s back to CD Audio.

I would like to start doing this.

Is there one (free) program that does all 3 things below ?

1 Rips a mujsic CD to Wav or MP3

2 Converts Wav files to Mp3's

3 Converts MP3s back to CD Audio

Also easy to use and allaws for set bit rates (ie not VBR)

    Thanks

    That's a good question digmen.
If you get an answer, it should be pinned. That way anyone thinking of asking this question....again, would see the answer posted "in the pinned section"

    it's in the pinned section

if you don't want to keep the wav files...like...you just want to copy a cd, you can use the 'disc copier' feature in most burning programs, like Easy CD Creator.

the fact is, there's really not a program that does all these things very well.
The program that you use to burn the music cd's is pretty much a matter of preference, as they all work about the same and do the same job.

as for a ripper, converting cd audio to wav's or a compressed audio format, the only thing I would recommend is EAC. There's a pinned topic about it.
and if you don't wish to encode to VBR (for whatever insane reason that might be) you can change your encoding options in EAC easily.

You can also import compressors/decompressors easily, or download and use profiles that have everything already set up for you.

sure, the learning curve is slightly larger with EAC than it is with some b00n-ish application, but the results are unmatched.

    goodluck.

    Thanks guys,

It seems there are lots of programs to rip CD's,

But what is a good free program to convert MP3's back to Audio CD so I can play my songs in my car stereo ?

Or do all rippers do this ?

    regards
