hey,

i'm having very big problems with my parent's computer at the moment...

when i turn the power on it starts to boot, beeps, then attempts to start up for 1-2 seconds.. then beeps again, and repeats continuosly until the power is pulled out of the back...

does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be and how best (and cheapest) to fix it?

Sounds like something is loose. Open your case, and make sure everything is in the slots tightly.

What kind of PC is it?

The beeps are a code trying to tell you what is wrong.
Different manufacturers have different "beep codes".

nothings loose, i bin fidling around with it for a while

and it a Tiny pc... as in the company tiny that used to exist in britain

Reset CMOS. I bet it works.

Get sisoft sandra or AIDA32, search google, and find out what motherboard you have. Then look up the motherboard on the internet and look for a manual or something on how to reset CMOS, might work.

CMOS.

Typically, to reset your CMOS you switch a jumper to the reset position and remove the battery.
After replacing the battery and the jumper you can enter BIOS and restore the settings to what worked in the past.

Sounds complicated,eh?
It's not, really.
