    I dont really want a perm solution. Cause im not sure this heatsink will do its job.

    What about applying a very thin layer of thermal paste, then some super glue. Or leave out the thermal paste. I cant really go out and but anything right now. It is 4:30 in the morning and need a fast fix.

    I would prob go with VBs Idea.

    I remember I was trying to get put ASIII on my 9700Pro and couldnt get the damn heatsink off....if would budge, nooo way. So i put it back in and it was broke haha but i got a new one.

    Probably too late now, but this would have been a better way to do it.


    The holes were already present in the board, I assume the existing mounting had the springs, all you needed to do was supply 4 self-tapping screws, and drill 4 small holes in the heatsink.

    ...I finally just decided to do it
    Sooner or later ( my bet would be sooner...) you discover that "fast fixes" implemented at 5 am are NOT the way to do things.
