The best for VCD's is apex you can get those at wal-mart for around $40.00...ne brand for DVD

get a cheap ass apex it won't last you but a year or so. They make great christmas gifts for thoose people you just hate but have to get something for.
I've got a Toshiba and a Sony.

2 votes for the philips dvp642...Have a look here for some comments on it videohelp.com dvp642 comments also here divx forum 9 pg dvp642 thread it really is a very versatile player...
