    <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Im using KL 1.43
I search for a file, say its about 300MB
I wait until it has at least 100 users(sources)
Even then I get a download speed of 1 to 40kbs
I have a cable internet connection of around 4 to 5mbs
With a normal download speed of 200-400kbs
Why is it so slow when I use KL 1.43

Here comes the famous filesharing phrase again: "The download speed is totally dependent upon the upload speed of the person from whom you are downloading."

Even if you have the fastest connection, you have to remember that very few people in the world are likely to have an upload speed of 400kbs (unless they are very rich). Although of course if you have many sources, it may be better.

In this case I doubt there&#39;s anything wrong with the program.

I read a report release by RIAA that filesharing is down by 300% from last year. Are people sharing less? Are people chocking the upload speeds in hopes of reducing their exposer?

How much and how often are people sharing and on what networks?

How do you go down 300%? I mean, if you wanna give me a 300% discount, by all means do. I could use the money(btw, normal price is &#036;1,000.00)

If you happen to have a router you should also be using KaNAT.
As for Fast Track its a crappy network, I suggest you move on perhaps...

Here the help file from K++ 2.4.3:
    "Searching

Start a search. A single search (no AutoSearchMore) is enough if the file is popular. For more rare files do a couple of manual &#39;search more&#39;. Stop searching when you have 10 or more sources. The reason why you shouldn&#39;t search until you get a lot of results will follow shortly.

    Now start the download.

After that continue searching for the same file. This time you can enable AutoSearchMore if you want. Search for another minute or less. Two minutes for rare files. Searching longer doesn&#39;t help much, trust me.

You will notice that the download speeds are much higher now.

But why didn&#39;t we initially search until we had hundreds of results? Well, only a maximum of 30 sources is stored in the .dat file when you start a download. But once the download is started, an additional 120 sources can be added (150 total). That&#39;s why we continued searching after starting the download."

    Funny?

I get the same problem... except im d/ling video files.. from 50,000kb to like 500,000kbs (& higher).. what is with the 56K people sharing the files?? shouldnt it be the people with the cable/dsl hookup that share the files??? to me its absurd.. i can find thousands of music mp3&#39;s that d/l faster then videos.. i dont know if im d/l&#39;ing rare videos.. i possibly am, but if so why & why is it that many of my d/l&#39;s stop just right b4 its complete.. i have like 400kb left & th person leaves causing my d/l to be completely inactive (usually i get more sources needed..) its annoying.. & i hate it. I have high-speed internet & to me its almost useless b/c everyone else has 56k&#39;s.. not to mention i have another problem where the users online number is really small at times.. what happened to all the users??
