my friend's old computer crashed and he had lots of songs on it. So he brought the hdd to my place and i plugged it in and everything the hdd is spinning but i cant see it in My Computer

so i went to Computer Management (ControlPannel>Admin. Tools>comp.management) and there it detects the hdd but it says "Unallocated"

is the harddrive wiped out? how can i access the files on there now?

    thanx in advance

Well if you partitioned it the data is gone.

You have probably set the bios parameters differently from your friends original settings.

There are different options (LBA, CHS etc) and there give different disk layouts. It is possible that if you had changed the options you may have seen the original partition table, but I think that is unlikely now that you have partitioned it.
