If you had a bad toe and 3 different Dr's tell you that you could either have it amputated, which would mean you would have to stay off your foot for three weeks, or they could put a pin in it and do some ligament work which would require you to be off of your foot for 8 weeks and may or may not fix the situation, which would you choose?

    Depends which toe.

Any other than the big toe and I'd probably have it amputated.

Yes, you would need your big toe for balance, wouldn't you.

I can describe big toe, middle toe, little toe. Would the other two be ring toe and index toe? It would be an index toe then.

    I'd go for it then.

Saves any unnecessary pain and uncertainty, as well as extra hours in the hospital.

I guess it might be okay. A person could always make a fake toe that you could do silly stuff with, like decorate for the holidays. Narrow toed shoes might fit better.

One less digit to get arthritis in when you get older.

You could always have it stuffed, wear it as an ankle bracelet or something.

    There are worse things, right?

Losing a leg would be worse. Or a nostril.

What else would be worse to lose? ( I have a family member who just had hers amputated and I am trying to cheer her up)

I'm sure John wayne bobbit could think of at least one thing :crying:

it’s an election with no Democrats, in one of the whitest states in the union, where rich candidates pay $35 for your votes. Or, as Republicans call it, their vision for the future.

Yes, and I don't think he got a chance to do anything like stuff it afterwards, either. Oh what the hell.
