I was playing CS:S and it froze my system and I had to hit the reset. When it loaded, it was stuck at the "xp load screen" (just before it asks for the user login). I logged in and windows.exe is still loading. It has been here for about 10 minutes and looks like it is going nowhere.
CS:S freezes my system often when I play. Here are my system specs:
Athon XP 2000+ (@1.925)
512 MB PC2700
FIC AN17 Mobo

All i can recommend is the usual, Defrag, Use bootvis, do a disk cleanup, scan for spyware, maybe unistall unwanted apps.

And how do you suppose I would start any of that?
Its working now though, I booted to Debug mode and it worked... safe mode and the rest wouldnt work. After I booted to debug it froze, then I restarted in loaded normally. Weird though cause I have POS Norton, SpySweeper and Ad-watch running before this happened so I dont think it was a virus.

Maybe you just had too many things running at the time. usually with games you should close everything else.

No, ive had it run with nothing else going and it would still crash.
Oh well, time for a reinstall anyways. I gotta burn these 25 xbox games i got on my hd first

This has happened to alot of people apparently while playing CS-S.
