Thread: Problem with burning XP Slipstreamed

  1. #1
Am trying to burn my XP slipstreamed with sp2 using Nero 6.3. Problem is, my OEM xp is 795mg and together with sp2 it is obviously too big for the cd. Is there a way I can reduce the file size so that I can burn it?
    Many Thanks.

I used AutoStreamer from Neowin at autopatcher. com or .org (Google). And the .iso file it created from XP corp & SP2 is less than 600MB. Easy as pie. GL.

I used Autostreamer too, but the file it gave is over 900mg!!
Can't think it is possible to burn it on to cd. Maybe it is because it is an OEM that it is so big?

Sounds wrong. Sounds like a recovery disk not a complete version.

I also slipstreamed using Paul Thurrotts guide, but the file was still too big to burn.

    Any suggestions please?

Is it an iso or something that it comes out with? just go into nero, click recorder, burn image, point to the iso file, then go to burn. What it actually burns isn't that big.

yes, it is an iso, but whenh I try to burn, Nero says the disk does not have enough space on it. (New disk 700Mg)

Still it doesn't sound like an XP install disk. Bet you have a recovery disk that is proprietary.

It is just the original Compaq xp recovery disk that came with the machine.

If you have hi speed internet then it's probably best if you just download a copy of windows xp corp with sp2 in it already.
