How were the religious beliefs reflected in art? How did art contribute to stability and continuity in ancient Egypt?

How did religion contribute to continuity from generation to generation of careers?

much of the artwork had pictures of the gods and goddesses they worshiped. The artwork told the stories of their history.(you can find much about this, all over the web..good luck)
    Don't read what isn't there.

Besides the Gods and Goddesses there is an important aspect to their religeous beliefs that is evident in all their tombs.

Each tomb has upon it's walls The Book Of The Dead. This details the rites of passage that the Pharoah has to go through so he or she becomes immortal. This was the uppermost depiction of religeon through art that the ancient Egyptians left us.

The law of maat was an important concept to them, this is also depicted in their artwork but mainly it was a set of beliefs that helped them maintain a certain status quo and balance, in their society. This favoured nepotism so the continuity of careers was preserved through their belief in maintaining maat as paramount.

Of course hieroglyphics are art too and I imagine that their depiction on scrolls and monuments is what your teacher means when (s)he speaks of continuity throughout the ages of their religeous beliefs. These messages were passed from generation to generation with nothing added nor taken away as the profession of a scribe was almost sacred in their society. Reflecting this, Thoth. the God of scribes and knowledge, was among the most highly revered of all their deities.
I plan on beating him to death with his kids. I'll use them as a bludgeon on his face. -
