    but why would he do that at work. wouldn't he get in trouble for that?

    One of the worst cases I've ever seen of an occupational health and safety hazard.
    Unshielded electrical hazard, swinging from a tripping/tangling hazard, hidden around a corner and extending over the edge of the desk.
    Oh the humanity!

    Gotta hand it to the guy for originality, though.

    I'm wondering what the temps are like compared to when everything was in the case...
    Would things be cooler now because heat would just bleed away into the room and actually be aided by the airconditioning?
    Or would cooling effiency be reduced, because airflow isn't being directed across components by case and fans?

    One thing that I noticed is that if the PC gets hot it will prevent the room heating from turning on. See where the room thermostat is?

    its a pretty old comp (still has ISA slots )

    look at the comp next to it, toothpaste commercial white compared to the old one....... im betting its an old comp he brought in (still, it kinda is telling your boss "im bored, and dont have enough work")
