i took a little trip last night, which lasted into just now
it started out with me being depressed with school work, which i hate, and having to share a flat, which i hate
so i decided to take a walk about a mile south towards the seafront (of Portsmouth) in search of solitude and a decent fish and chippie's, i found neither - but i did discover i'm terrified of water
i then headed westwards and wandered into a small town, there was nothing of interest, but the crappy layout left me completely lost, eventually after an hour of wandering i found myself about 2 miles north of where i started. At this point i was still hungry, and looking for a place without any human contact whatsoever, so i kept heading north for about 4 miles
eventually, i reached a train station, at about 10:00, where there was a train leaving for Southhampton in 30 minutes , this gave me time to decide to catch the last train home or find food and comfort in a strange town
i got on the train and arrived in Southhampton at 11:00, i walked around for an hour, and couldn't find what i was looking for. Now without a way home and nowhere to stay i tried to sleep on the train platform without success. I was woken by a drunktard, who kept trying to reassure me there was a way home by slapping my shoulder
it was now 1:00, so i decided to try and make my way home on foot. I had no idea where i was going and spent a good while just walking straight ahead and hoping.
At around 4:00 i reached the motorway heading back to Portsmouth, by now my legs were aching and my feet hurt, and i kept shitting myself everytime a lorry drove by, and the road was unlit
at 5:00ish i finally reached an exit and got off as soon as i could, and followed the road until i reached a shopping outlet centre, where there was a bus stop which would take me to the next train station in the area, but i had to wait three hours for the next bus, i took the opportunity to rest my legs and almost freeze to death
when the bus arrived, i had the driver from hell, who would driver at high-speed round roundabouts, brake hard, and mount kerbs
despite the unpleasant journey, i got to the station on time and caught the train, and i've end up back here, where i've missed 10 minutes off my lecture
here's some nice pictures of two of my many blisters, and the result of spending a whole night with a hat on
the moral of the story is: face your problems, don't wander off randomly without a plan to get home from them
