Nah, 100 x 100 is fine, I would'nt think there would be any problems as long as the file size is kept down, having said that it could be made that we upload our own, therefore not harming the db in any way.
File size could still be kept the same, 100kb is fine, always has been.

I was always under the impression that the database does not contain any pics, only links to the pics. When the database uploads the pics for display then it sizes them according to the display rules. That is why when picture host 'goes down' the forum is littered by wee red 'X's where pics from that host should be.
If the pics were 'stored' on the Forum database pics would be displayed everytime you accessed a post.

I dont know how it is linked. It is just that the database only contains 'text' whether they be hot links or upload links. That is why it should be easy to change your Sig and Avator which are dynamic links within your profile. If you change your Sig and Avator, then that changes in every post that you access, whatever the date. The upload and hot links within a post however will remain unchanged as they are not dynamic, until that post is accessed, and a permanent part of the database unless the post is edited. I could probably have worded that better, but I am out of practice.
