ive just installed a maxton 120g h drive as a slave. xp reconized it but when i go into my computer its not there.
so i took out my master and made the maxtor 120g my master. then i put in xp and tryed to install it on my 120g hdrive. the pc starts the installion process (yon no b4 window asks you do u want to insall afresh copy of xp) the i get the blue screen sayin there is a problem with my new harware and windows will now shut down to protect my pc.

stick the old one back in, make the new one slave boot up into xp then go

start -> accessories -> admin tools -> computer management -> Disk management

your new drive should be shown there, right click and format / partition it as you like.

Yeah. Do exactly what ilw said. Or what lynx said in your other same topic in the hardware section.

Note: Post only in one place next time.
