    I have the Liteon 52x and it works great for me.

    384 RAM
    Seagate Baracuda V 80 GB
    Athlon b 1.4 GHz

    Yeah I have ruined a cd but it was my own fault. Burning, kazaa, IE, winamp and Photoshop was too much for my pc and everything crashed.
